A typical rebellious teen, when Annatha unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she reaches the same conclusion that many other young women in her situation would: she decides to terminate the pregnancy; however, when she meets Wendy Malloy, a nurse who appears to be sympathetic to her situation, little does she know that Wendy actually plans to kidnap her and hold her and her unborn baby hostage - all as part of her own twisted agenda. When FBI agent Rachel Ward is assigned Annatha’s case, she works fervently to retrieve the missing girl - but an unforeseen pregnancy complication suddenly exacerbates the situation, turning Rachel’s pursuit into a race against time to preserve Annatha’s life - and her unborn baby’s future...
Gestation: Unborn Hostage is a compelling, suspenseful read. In it, author Richard Henegan has crafted a compelling, page-turning tale told through well-defined characters and highly believable, real-life scenarios. Skillfully avoiding the re-ignition of the ongoing pro-life-pro-choice debate, Henegan instead successfully manages to steer readers on a more introspective path, offering them vicarious glances into the hearts of difficult decisions that we all face in some way every day. Though we may never personally be confronted with the difficult prospect of abortion, Gestation provides us with the opportunity to understand the considerable challenges facing those who are; as such, Henegan’s tale serves less as propaganda and more as an insightful invitation for welcome self-analysis.
Kudos to Henegan for penning such an equally entertaining and enlightening read. A recommended literary treat.

Hello Richard! Thank you for the opportunity to edit your absolutely wonderful manuscript. Gestation is a harrowing and haunting tale, brilliantly conceived and flawlessly executed. I knew when I provided the sample edit that you were a talented writer, but this is truly an amazing work. The descriptions of Washington State are so beautifully done that the reader can see in his/her mind's eye the scenes you describe, yet they never feel extraneous or unnecessary. With so many players, it might be easy to confuse them, except that these characters are all believably drawn and well-rounded, leaping off the pages and capturing the reader--again, the small details make them real. The plot advances at just the right pace to keep the reader's interest, and the shifting back and forth between locations is handled expertly. The medical terminology is explained clearly for the lay-reader and never bogs down the story, which is something a lot of otherwise talented writers never quite manage--well done indeed! It's my opinion that a publisher would have to be crazy to pass on this one--it has "best-seller" written all over it! Vonda/Editor
